AVALIATION OF TYRE FINAL DESTINATION IN MUNICIPALITY OF SENADOR CANEDO (GO)

If not treated properly, tires called waste can become a dangerous environmental liability, causing serious damage to the environment and even public health. The present study aimed to evaluate alternatives for managing the collection of scrap tires abandoned in the municipality of Senador Canedo (GO), with reference to the environmental laws. For this, monthly visits in tire stores, vacant lots, industries and city districts were made. For monitoring, research measures to mitigate negative environmental impacts were evaluated. From the study, it was found that the improper disposal of tires causes a number of problems for the environment, because the rubber material is difficult to decompose. Moreover, this kind of material when discarded improperly causes huge imbalances, by presenting difficult compression, the tires take up much physical space definitely represents a serious risk to the environment and public health.
