The passionflower belongs to the family Passifloraceae, genus Passiflora, where climatic conditions are favorable in Brazil for its development and production. Among the best-known and most widely used commercial species is yellow passion fruit or passion fruit (Passiflora edulis Sims, flavicarpa Deg), which is the most cultivated species in the country. There are various proportions and compositions of substrates described in the technical literature. We aimed to determinated the most efficient substrate for the production of yellow passion fruit seedlings. The experiment was conducted in a completely randomized design with 8 treatments, 4 replicates, 4 seedlings per plot, conducted in polyethylene bags (900 mL). The treatments were L1 (Soil + sand (1: 1)); LO1 (Soil + sand + bovine manure (1: 1: 1)); LM1 (Solo + sand (1: 1) + P and K); LOM1 (Soil + sand + bovine manure (1: 1: 1) + P and K); L2 (Solo + sand (2: 1)); LO2 (Soil + sand + bovine manure (2: 1: 1)); LM2 (Soil + sand (2: 1) + P and K) and LOM2 (Soil + sand + bovine manure (2: 1: 1) + P and K). At 50 days after sowing, seedling height, leaf number, root length, dry mass of the root and shoot were evaluated. Data were submitted to analysis of variance and compared by Tukey's test, at 5% probability. The substrates with soil, sand, bovine manure in proportions of 2: 1: 1 and 1: 1: 1 with or without P and K demonstrated efficiency in the production of yellow passion fruit seedlings.
